Granite worktops are a highly fashionable and yet highly practical option to implement within the kitchen. The hard wearing nature of this stone ensures lasting quality, the ease of cleaning it ensures hygiene and the large range of colours and thickness' available ensures a style to suit all tastes.

Although Granite is strongly advised for this application, marble and slate are also available at your request.

The following information should be considered before specifying or working with Granite worktops.

GRANITE,MARBLE,SLATE,LIMESTONE are all natural materials and are to differing degrees porous and even granite is not impervious to staining or damage ,for long lasting results they need to be cared for on a regular basis.

All natural stone worktops supplied by Bath Granite & Marble are treated with an impregnator which makes the penetration of water,dirt,oil and grease more difficult. It will not stop the ingress but will give you a "time to react" to the spill on the surface.

All surfaces should be CLEANED and RETREATED on a regular basis . Bath Granite & Marble can return to re-seal your surfaces but there would be a charge for this service.

Surface finishes other than polished namely , HONED , ANTIQUED , BLASTED and BUSH HAMMERED are generally less suitable for worktops as the stone no longer has the protection of the polished surface . These surfaces can be more susceptible to marking and the absorbtion of liquids.
